If you grew up a sports fan in the 1990s, chances were good you had a Costacos Brothers poster or four hiding the choo-choo train wallpaper of your childhood. The best Costacos Brothers posters took a player’s nickname or something about their team and gave it a larger-than-life literal interpretation. Whether it was Michael Jordan soaring through the night sky, ready to dunk the moon or Mark McGwire and Jose Canseco dressed as the Blues Bash Brothers, as soon as you saw one of their pieces, you knew it was by the Costacos Brothers even if you didn’t know who the Costacos Brothers were.
While many of the posters can be somewhat tough and fairly expensive to replace today, 1993-94 SkyBox Premium Basketball has 20 of them reproduced as trading cards. They aren’t the wildest of their works, but most are still memorable. Scottie Pippen, Shaquille O’Neal, Karl Malone, Shawn Kemp and David Robinson are among those featured.
The 1993-94 SkyBox Premium Costacos Brothers cards come towards the tail end of Series 2. They are part of the base set so they not at all expensive today.
