2023 Panini Prizm Football Color Blast inserts are among the most valuable and sought after cards in the product. And that’s saying a lot considering how popular Prizm is. While the overall look and vibe remains the same as past years, there are a couple of significant changes that set them apart from previous installments.
No matter the sport or set, Color Blast cards have a couple distinct features. First is that plume of color spreading in the background. In most instances, it’s like a rainbow explosion. Backgrounds are otherwise white, adding both contrast and pop against the isolated player shots in the foreground.
From its gridiron debut in 2019 through 2022, the NFL inserts were all done with a horizontal layout. This is one of the big changes for 2023 Panini Prizm Football Color Blast. These are the first time that the cards have a vertical orientation.
The checklist has 25 cards, highlighted by a handful of rookie quarterbacks such as C.J. Stroud, Bryce Young, Anthony Richardson and Will Levis. Puka Nacua and Jaxon Smith-Njigba are among the other rookies on the 2023 Panini Prizm Color Blast checklist.
In addition to these are five Color Blast Duo cards, another first for the inserts. These have two teammates on the same card.
Where to Find 2023 Panini Prizm Football Color Blast Inserts
Although 2023 Panini Prizm Football has several box and pack configurations, few of them offer the possibility of Color Blast inserts. Hobby boxes and 1st Off the Line boxes are the only places to find them.
As for how rare 2023 Panini Prizm Football Color Blast cards are, they’re not serial numbered so exact numbers are not known. Panini hasn’t released odds for the cards, either so any specifics should be taken as speculation. That said, they’re some of the toughest standard inserts in the product. Factor in that they’re not in retail, either, and once the initial supply dries up, don’t be surprised if they become relatively scarce on the secondary market.
