2023 Panini Absolute Football Kaboom inserts represent some of the biggest — and boldest — inserts of the year. Returning for another year, the collector favorites come in two styles, Vertical and Horizontal. Both carry a similar look and the usual big values, often outpacing many of Absolute’s autographs.
2023 Panini Absolute Football Kaboom Details
2023 Absolute Football has a total of 55 different Kaboom cards. Vertical account for the majority of these with a checklist of 40 players. The remaining 15 are Horizontal. Each style carries slightly different numbering.
As far as players go, it’s superstar veterans, key rookies and a smattering of all-time greats. Fresh out of the gate, first-year standouts CJ Stroud and Bryce Young ranked among the most valuable 2023 Absolute Kaboom cards. Similar to Donruss Downtown and Prizm Color Blast, even common players fetch big prices.
This marks the fifth year of football Kaboom cards after kicking off in 2019 Absolute. No matter the year, the cards are highlighted by foil stock that gives off an explosion pattern (hence, the name). Images are given an animated look with “Kaboom” splashed across the background. There’s also the odds. According to Panini, these are case hit-level inserts.
All cards come with two parallels. Gold have ten copies each while Kaboom Green cards are one-of-ones.
What Boxes and Packs Have 2023 Absolute Kaboom Cards?
Similar to Donruss Football Downtown, part of the appeal of Kaboom is that it’s a big insert that’s available in both hobby and retail packs. But not all types and parallels are found in all configurations. Here’s what you can find in hobby boxes as well as retail blaster and mega boxes:
- Hobby Boxes – Kaboom Vertical, Kaboom Vertical Gold (#’ed/10), Kaboom Vertical Green (1/1), Kaboom Horizontal Green (#’ed/10), Kaboom Horizontal Green (1/1)
- Blaster Boxes – Kaboom Horizontal
- Mega Boxes – Kaboom Horizontal
