Even villains need clothes. The 2004 Inkworks Buffy the Vampire Slayer Big Bads Pieceworks cards feature costume swatches worn by some of the show’s most dangerous demons and mosters.
Inserted 1:24 packs, they’re the top insert in 2004 Inkworks BTVS Big Bads. The set has no autographs.
A Villainous Lineup
The checklist is kept to a modest seven cards. Sticking with the set’s theme, all were villains at least some point in the show.
While some of the costumes used are fairly plain, like pants and shirts, there are a couple that are a little more intricate. On top of that, some have variants. This includes the final card in the set, which features singer Ashanti. The back of the card lists the swatch as being from her outfit versus the more specific shirt or pants. That’s because it looks as though both are used on separate cards. Of the two versions, the red one is considered the short print.
PW4 also has a few different versions based on the color of the material. However, the nature of the costume may not command quite the same interest as they’re all from the same pair of pants.
Speaking of short prints, PW2 is extremely scarce. Finding one today might take a bit of patience, not to mention luck and a likely sizable price tag. It’s considered by many to be one of the toughest Buffy the Vampire Slayer trading cards ever produced.
