If you’re looking for a Caitlin Clark rookie card or other cards from early in her career, you’re in luck. They have arrived. 2024 Panini Origins WNBA features the first mainstream Caitlin Clark rookie card to arrive. Yes, she has plenty of other cards that pre-date it, but this is her first WNBA product to come out in traditional packs. It takes on a space theme — think start of the universe.
A handful of Caitlin Clark autographs are in Origins as well, all of which use stickers. Memorabilia cards are also available, although these do not have pieces of game-used gear.
Insert highlights include Blank Slate, Tiger Eyes and Prototypes.

2024 Panini Select WNBA Caitlin Clark Rookie Card #72 (Concourse), #151 (Premier Level), #218 (Courtside)
Things are a little more complicated when it comes to the 2024 Panini Select WNBA Caitlin Clark rookie card. She has three different cards in the main set, each with a different photo and design. They also come with different rarity with Concourse (#72) being the most common, then Premier Level (#151) with Courtside (#218) being the rarest. To this end, for those going for traditional rookie card definitions, Concourse is the main one as it’s the most plentiful.
Clark has a handful of autographs in 2024 Select including an autographed memorabilia card and a dual with her former Iowa teammate Kate Martin (it’s a redemption). As far as tough inserts go, Black Color Blast leads the way. It’s one of the most valuable Caitlin Clark cards outside of autographs.

The sports card landscape today is more complicated than it used to be. When it comes to Caitlin Clark rookie cards, it meant many cards that came out before her first cards in mainstream WNBA products. If you’re looking for the very first Caitlin Clark WNBA card, this is it. Offered immediately following the draft in April, cards were exclusive to Panini’s website. The print run was based on the number ordered. Not surprisingly, the first overall selection sold a lot of cards. 45,316 copies to be exact. 2024 Panini Instant Draft Night also provided collectors with the first WNBA Caitlin Clark autograph card. Like the regular one, it’s an online-exclusive. However, rather than an open window for ordering, the base version has just 99 copies.

2024 Panini Instant Caitlin Clark #1
Panini Instant is also home to the first card of Clark wearing her Indiana Fever jersey and not just showing it off. It comes as part of the card maker’s season-long release that highlights big moments, performances and milestones from throughout the league shortly after they happen. Print runs are based on orders.
Clark kicks off the set with the first slot, a card commemorating her pre-season debut. It sold 8,646 copies. That’s way down from the draft card but still a huge number.
Not surprisingly, the guard has several other 2024 Panini Instant WNBA cards as well.

2024 Panini National Convention VIP Caitlin Clark #VIP1
Those attending the 2024 National Sports Collectors Convention in Cleveland with a VIP pass received a gift bag. In it were exclusive cards from multiple card companies. Panini chose to have Clark, one of their exclusive athletes, lead off their portion of the promo release. With strong attendance, there is likely a good number of these out there. However, a lot of collectors hold onto these as mementos from the show.
2024 Panini National Convention Case Breaker Insert Caitlin Clark #CC #’ed/25
In additional to the VIP gift bag set, Panini made three other promo sets for the 2024 National. One is a Case Breaker set, given to breakers to use as incentives, typically for those not able to make it to Cleveland. This includes one of the rarest early Caitlin Clark cards. Part of the insert portion of the checklist, the card has just 25 copies. It’s also from a release that many collectors may not even know exists unless they’re watching select breaks.

If you’re looking for the first Caitlin Clark card, you might have just as much luck finding it at a used book store or library discard pile. That’s because it was included in the November/December, 2021 issue of Sport Illustrated for Kids magazine. The publication has a long history of trading cards spanning decades with issues typically containing a perforated sheet of nine cards. For Clark, her card is on the bottom-right corner of the sheet, right below soccer standout Brenden Aaronson.
Finding a top-condition 2021 SI for Kids Caitlin Clark can be difficult. The cards themselves are cheaply made on stock that weak compared to typical hobby standards. Its spot on the sheet can also be a hinderance with the bottom corner taking a lot of wear and tear as they’re read, tossed around and put standing in racks. And even if you get a perfectly archived issue, it’s a toss up as to whether you’ll find one with solid centering.

“1st Bowman” hits a little bit differently when it comes to collegiate cards versus their baseball counterparts. Still, the branding is strong, representing prospects in the earliest stages of their careers. In the past, collegiate cards have taken a backseat, typically more comparable to minor league cards. But now that we’re in the NIL era of getting current student athletes in mainstream sets versus pending rookies after they’ve turned pro, the concept could change. No matter the case, this is an important Caitlin Clark basketball card. It’s her first major card in a traditional product. It comes from a juggernaut brand, which includes the customary parallel rainbow.

Same layout as the base card, different photo. This Caitlin Clark card is on the sneaky side as it doesn’t immediately give away that it’s as big a card as it is. This variation, which is done as a Refractor, comes with longer odds and stronger value than its standard counterpart.
2022-23 Bowman Chrome University Basketball 2009 Bowman Caitlin Clark #09B-30
It’s double nostalgia for this throwback insert. As the name suggest, there’s a nod to 2009-10 Bowman Basketball. That was the last full Bowman release for the sport before 2022-23 as the NBA license went exclusive to Panini shortly after. But 2009-10 Bowman is based on 1948, best known for having George Mikan’s rookie card. 2009 Bowman inserts land 1:6 hobby packs with Clark being one of 30 players in the set.

Big Kahuna brings Topps into case hit territory. Much like Panini’s Kaboom and Downtown runs, this one comes with a big design and out-there name. In those senses, it’s reminiscent of the late 1990s. Although not numbered, this card is tough. All Big Kahuna cards combine to land 1:288 hobby packs. With a 25-card checklist, you’re looking at that many cases to find this particular card.
