As women’s basketball explodes in popularity, Angel Reese rookie cards and other early cards have quickly come to the hobby forefront. First came the 2023 NCAA Championship (and the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player Award) to go with it. She followed that up with an outstanding 2024 season where she helped lead LSU deep into the tournament once again as well as collecting several personal honors. Drafted seventh overall by the Chicago Sky, Reese has made a quick impact in her pro career, landing an All-Star nod in her rookie season.
The first Angel Reese cards came out in 2023 — and lots of them. Licensed NCAA cards came from Topps under the Bowman University banner. Collectors can find a variety of card styles including autographs, Refractor parallels and a handful of scarce inserts. Leaf’s offerings featured online-exclusive autographs and limited releases.
Days before the 2024 WNBA Draft, Panini announced they’d signed Reese to an exclusive deal for autographs and memorabilia. This will ensure Angel Reese autographs will be in her first WNBA sets.
Where to Get (and Expect) Angel Reese Rookie Cards
While her first cards pre-date her professional career, Angel Reese rookie cards will be a part of Panini’s 2024 WNBA lineup. Specifics haven’t been announced but the card maker has announced at least three different sets. 2024 Panini Origins WNBA will include a variety of autographs. 2024 Panini Prizm WNBA and 2024 Select WNBA are both chromium releases. No set details or release dates have been announced yet.
Panini also has their Panini Instant brand, an online release that evolves throughout the season. This is a print-on-demand set isn’t typically considered to have traditional rookie cards but they do often have modest print runs.

When it comes to early Angel Reese cards, this is the one that truly stands out on a visual level. Illustrated by Japanese artist Shion Minabe, it offers a manga spin on Reese’s signature gesture that helped make her one of the most talked about players in women’s basketball.
Available for a short time directly from Leaf, the print-to-order card has just 226 serial numbered copies and no parallels.
2023 Pro Set Autographs Angel Reese #PB-13 #’ed/338
The first Angel Resse autograph cards came courtesy of Leaf as part of their ongoing online-exclusive release inspired by 1989 Pro Set. This one has Reese at LSU’s victory parade making her famous pose. The print run of 338 numbered copies is relatively modest.
2023 Pro Set Autographs Angel Reese #PB-14 #’ed/404
Leaf followed up the parade card with a more traditional in-action autograph card. Same concept and print-to-order format. Although not licensed and therefore missing LSU marks and logos, it still outsold Reese’s other 1989 Pro Set-inspired autograph by 66 copies.
2023 Sport Illustrated for Kids Angel Reese #1076
Historically, for a lot of women’s basketball standouts (or women’s athletes in general), Sports Illustrated for Kids cards are their first by a significant amount of time. Not so with Reese. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t any significance in this card. It’s just somewhat muted as collectors look to her more mainstream cards. This one was part of a nine-card sheet included in the May/June, 2023 issue of the magazine, one in which Reese was pictured on the cover alongside her cousin Jordan Hawkins who won an NCAA Championship playing for UConn.
2023 Topps Now Baseball Angel Reese #589
About a year before her first licensed WNBA cards, Angel Reese appeared on an official MLB baseball card. Another online-exclusive, this one commemorates her throwing out the first pitch at a Baltimore Orioles game on July 18, 2023. Available exclusive on the Topps website for just 24 hours, it sold 1,480 copies.

Reese was a key player in both of Topps’ main Bowman U Basketball releases. And while it’s not a WNBA card, the design offers a nice connection to the Chicago Sky (even if it was totally unintentional)

2024 Panini Instant Draft Night Angel Reese #DN-6
The first Angel Reese WNBA card became available not long after she was taken seventh overall by the Chicago Sky. Available for a limited time on Panini’s website, it sold 2,035 copies. Although it’s a far cry from the more than 45,000 that Caitlin Clark sold in the same timeframe, it’s still a healthy print run.
