2024 Topps Chrome Garbage Pail Kids finds its inspiration in Original Series 7, bringing to it a metallic look and feel as well as some modern collecting elements.
While much of the content finds its origins in the past, there’s some new art and inserts as well.
2024 Topps Chrome Garbage Pail Kids Checklist Details
The base set has 100 total cards, which is 16 more than Original Series 7, which it’s based on. To flesh out the balance of the checklist, there are some new spins on classic GPK characters.
When you’re talking modern and Topps Chrome, things go to the Refractor rainbow. Not only does this make for plenty low-numbered cards, but these allow collectors to chase different cards of favorite characters. Here, levels include:
- Refractors – 1:2 packs
- Drool Refractors – 6 per blaster box
- Prism Refractors – 1:2.5 hobby packs
- Negative Refractors – 1:3 hobby packs
- Magenta Refractors – 1:5 hobby packs
- Purple Refractors – 1:7 hobby packs

- Aqua Refractors – #’ed/199
- Blue Lava Refractors – #’ed/149
- Green Refractors – #’ed/99

While the main set has the traditional A and B name structure, C-Name Variations bring a third name to cards. These are one of the product’s chase sets.
Joining these are Where Are They Now?, offering updated iterations of Original Series 7 characters imagining what might have happened to them over the last nearly 40 years.
Khrome Crashers put classic Garbage Pail Kids behind the wheel. This is another installment of cards that started as a couple of standalone online mini sets.
All three of these insert sets are exclusive to hobby packs. They also come with Aqua Refractors (#’ed/199), Green Refractors (#’ed/99), Blue Wave Refractors (#’ed/75), Gold Refractors (#’ed/50), Orange Refractors (#’ed/25), Red Refractors (#’ed/5) and Superfractors (1/1).
Retail packs have three insert sets of their own. Art by Rory McQueen lets the artist loose, reimagining OS7 cards. Contests of Garbage put GPK characters into the world of sports while Garbage Music Awards does something similar only with the arts.
These three sets have Green Refractors (#’ed/99), Gold Refractors (#’ed/50), Orange Refractors (#’ed/25), Red Refractors (#’ed/5) and Superfractors (1/1). Art of Rory McQueen also has autograph versions.
Artist Autographs come with on-card signatures from select GPK artists. Gold Refractors (#’ed/50), Red Refractors (#’ed/5) and Superfractors (1/1) make up the rainbow here.
Sketch cards are also randomly inserted in packs.
