2018 Upper Deck Predator trading cards offer an art-based look at the Hollywood hunters. It’s also an extremely limited release that some may have missed due to its original distribution exclusively through Upper Deck’s digital e-Pack platform.
2018 Upper Deck Predator Checklist Details
The base set has 28 cards. These were spread over 14 weeks with each pack carrying that week’s pair of cards. Every card uses illustrations rather than images, so there’s no Arnold Schwarzenegger or Jesse “The Body” Ventura to be found. Backs primarily describe the Predators and what makes them such masterful hunters, but there is a story loosely integrated into it as well.
Packs also came with a Predatory Instincts insert. Although each week had two of these as well, there was only one per pack. This makes them half as rare as base cards. These bring a human aspect to the checklist.
Those who were able to build each individual set were eligible for card 29 in both the base set and Predatory Instincts. Those Achievement cards could then be redeemed for a sketch card.
Each week, just 250 packs of 2018 Upper Deck Predator were released. That means there’s a maximum of 250 base sets minus the Achievement card #29. Predatory Instincts cards have just 125 copies each.
Further complicating the release was the fact that collectors had to first purchase an Alien-themed pack from e-Pack to unlock the Predator packs.
