2015 Rittenhouse Avengers Silver Age trading cards look at the early days of Marvel’s A-list team. While it has sketch cards like the company’s other Marvel sets, they take a back seat to comic cut cards that are the product’s box hits. Several other inserts are also on the checklist, highlighting key characters and other themes.
2015 Rittenhouse Avengers Silver Age Checklist Details
The 100-card base set breaks down the first 100 issues of the Avengers comic. Fronts use interior artwork while backs have a picture of the cover along with key info like creator credits, publication date and a brief synopsis. This is all done on cardboard stock, giving the set an added retro feel.
Two parallels are also available. Silver versions come numbered to 100 and land one per box. Gold cards have just ten copies each. Outside of the serial number, parallels can be differentiated by the color of the bar on the bottom of the card fronts.
Inserts
Archive Cuts, which combine to land two per hobby box, take original panels from early Avengers comics and transform them into cards. All 100 issues plus Avengers King-Size #1-4 are all available. Each issue has a different card number as well as a serial number. That said, some are more plentiful than others.
There are also another 41 Archive Cuts that use Tales of Suspense issues. These are tough at 1:144 packs. However, they’re also dual panel cards done in a book card format.
Sketch cards are fairly scarce overall, landing approximate every fourth box. As usual for Rittenhouse, they’re all higher quality and done with color.
Three additional insert sets are also on the 2015 Rittenhouse Avengers Silver Age checklist. Tales of Suspense has 41 cards, one for each issue of the comic from #59-100. Falling two per box, these open up like mini comics.
Avengers Assemble uses foil to spotlight 17 different members of the team’s roster. Classic Villains has a dozen foes done with a mugshot style. A thirteenth card is also available, but not in packs. Rather, it was exclusive through the Rittenhouse Rewards program by sending in points from wrappers. Both Avengers Assemble and Classic Villains are one per box.
