Movies, TV, music, sports — they’re all here. You’ve got your A-list superstars, others who spent a short time atop the entertainment world and several who you’ve probably never heard of.
Key 2015 Panini Americana Autograph Signers
The biggest 2015 Panini Americana autographs belong to the likes of Al Pacino, Sylvester Stallone, Bradley Cooper, Jordana Brewster, Molly Ringwald, Kevin Hart and Paula Abdul. It’s a solid mix of current stars and others from recent decades. That’s a common thread that runs throughout the checklist. And something some collectors won’t mind as it gives them a chance at autographs from people who were big at a time when signed cards weren’t a common part of the hobby.
Because these autographs focus on the entertainers themselves and don’t have a direct connection to any specific franchise, it gives collectors an opportunity to save some money compared to other sets they may have signed for in the past. For example, a Joan Collins autograph from a Star Trek set is going to run into the hundreds. Here, you can probably find one $50 or less.
Sticky Situation
One of the drawbacks with the 2015 Panini Americana autographs is that they’re done on stickers. While some might accept this as being part of the modern hobby, the issue isn’t as much the stickers as it is the signatures themselves. Some are big and the stickers can’t contain them. This leads to incomplete autographs. If you’re shopping for cards on the secondary market, it’s definitely something you’ll want to watch for.
For the regular autographs, which officially fall under the Americana Signatures name, there are a couple of parallels that add more of a chase factor. These have different colored backgrounds and are serial numbered. Black are the toughest, limited to one copy each.
Below is a gallery of the 2015 Panini Americana Signatures set — at least most of it. Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio and Lea Michele are redemptions in packs. While Michele’s card is now live, Mastrantonio’s still does not appear to be.
