Following sets dedicated to Batman and Superman, it’s all about the ladies in 2013 Cryptozoic DC Women of Legend. Character-driven, it includes a diverse mix of styles. Keeping with the card maker’s other DC Comics sets, sketch cards are the big chase draw with one in every box.
2013 Cryptozoic DC Women of Legend Checklist Details
The 63-card base set lives up to its name with every card featuring females from across the DC Universe. Most put the spotlight on a single character but towards the end of the set there are different combinations of friends and enemies.
Foil parallels are available for the entire set. Landing 1:6 packs, collectors can expect four per hobby box.
Almost 100 artists did sketch cards for 2013 Cryptozoic DC Women of Legend. While there are different styles, some of which may appeal more than other, these all go beyond basic sketches. Typical for Cryptozoic, the quality is there with full color.
Totally Fabricated are the toughest cards to pull in the product. These are done like memorabilia cards but because it’s a comic set, it makes it difficult to have costumes that have actually been worn. Three cards are available in packs at a rate of 1:175 packs. A fourth card with Batgirl’s “costume” was exclusive to the set’s binder. A total of 25 redemptions good for an oversized Totally Fabricated card with a piece of Wonder Woman’s Invisible Plane were also made.
2013 Cryptozoic DC Women of Legend has two additional insert sets, both of which highlight the talents of female comic creators. Nine Sticker Cards all use artwork by Katie Cook. Gail’s Picks has nine key DC characters as selected by Gail Simone. She also provides the write-ups that go with them. Both sets have 1:12 pack odds.
