2012 Rittenhouse True Blood Premiere Edition is the first full set of trading cards for the HBO horror-comedy. Covering the show’s first four seasons, the set is highlighted by a large autographs checklist that includes several key stars and names known for other programs and movies.
2012 Rittenhouse True Blood Premiere Edition Checklist Details
The base set has 98 cards. It works out perfectly for two cards per episode with a pair of spots left for checklists at the end. While not as in-depth as products that focus on just one or even two seasons, there’s still room to cover many of the bigger plot points and revelations.
All 98 cards come with Foil parallels, which land 1:3 packs. This makes for a challenging set to put together but not an impossible one.
Autographs and Other Inserts
Each 2012 Rittenhouse True Blood Premiere Edition hobby box is expected to deliver two autographs. These come in two designs: Full-Bleed and Bordered, which split the photo and signing area with the show’s logo and some dripping blood.
The show’s leads Anna Paquin (Sookie Stackhouse) and Stephen Moyer (Bill Compton) both sign for the set. However, their signatures are also among the rarest. Other series regulars with autographs include Deborah Ann Woll (Jessica), Jim Parrack (Hoyt) and the late Nelsan Ellis (Lafayette). Some of the other names include Lizzy Caplan, Anna Camp and The Big Bang Theory‘s Melissa Rauch.
A couple of autographs were only available as multi-case incentives. Kristen Bauer (Pam) is a three-case card. To get an Alexander Skarsgard you had to buy six cases from Rittenhouse.
Among the other inserts on the 2012 Rittenhouse True Blood Premiere Edition checklist are four Shadowbox cards. Landing 1:72 packs, or approximately every third box, these have layered design with multiple character images.
Quotable is a double-sided set of inserts that highlight some of the top lines from the show. Nine are available in packs with 1:12 odds. The only way to get the final card was through the Rittenhouse Rewards program by redeeming points found on the company’s wrappers.
Other inserts include Black and White (six cards, 1:18 packs), which has character portraits, and Do Bad Things (nine cards, 1:12 packs), a rainbow foil puzzle that also works as individual cards.
Although the first full set of True Blood trading cards, Premiere Edition came out several months after the first installment of True Blood Legends, a small set of 27 character cards done as a factory set.
