2011 Rittenhouse Stargate Universe Season 2 trading cards took a much more limited approach than the first season’s release. It came at a time when the card maker was experimenting with different pack types.
Rather than going the traditional route, 2011 Rittenhouse Stargate Universe Season 2 packs almost a box worth of cards, minus the base, into a single premium pack. That means two base cards, two autographs and a pair of inserts.
And for this show, it makes sense. Not as popular as SG-1, the idea was that it would cater to hardcore fans without much excess.
The base set has 20 cards. But even though it’s about a quarter the size of the average Rittenhouse set, putting one together is no easy task. Adding a little extra appeal is the fact that base cards are serial numbered to 400 copies. Each episode is summarized on a single card.
Autographs come in a couple of different designs — bordered and full-bleed. Richard Dean Anderson, Lou Diamond Phillips, Elyse Levesque and Ming-Na are among the key signers. Anderson is featured on a separate SG-1 autograph card as well.
Destiny and Secrets are the other insert themes in 2011 Rittenhouse Stargate Universe Season 2. Both sets have nine cards and land one per pack. They’re also numbered to 444 copies.
A total of 250 boxes of 2011 Rittenhouse Stargate Universe Season 2 trading cards were produced. Each has 15 packs.
