Semi-Pro is a largely forgotten basketball movie starring Will Ferrell and Woody Harrelson. While it has a couple of decent laughs, it comes nowhere near Ferrell’s other sports movie, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. But something that Semi-Pro has over Talladega Nights is trading cards.
Upper Deck made a set of three promo cards for the movie. Each focuses on a different character. Card fronts are reminiscent of Topps basketball cards from the 1970s. Back are a lot more modern with short player bios and an ad for the movie.
2008 Upper Deck Semi-Pro trading cards came packaged in clear cellophane. In addition to the three cards was a stick of pink gum.
