2005 Topps WWE Heritage was a fantastic return to the ring for the card maker, especially when it came to autographs. It not only featured a strong checklist, but the signatures were on-card. The strong list of signers carried over into the follow-up 2006 Topps WWE Heritage Chrome Autographs but the signatures switched to stickers. This is a trend that would, unfortunately, last for nearly a decade.
The set’s autographs, or Chromagraphs as the manufacturer called them, checklist has 27 cards. While the main focus was on current Superstars and Divas, a few retired stars are in there. Highlights include John Cena, Trish Stratus, Shawn Michaels and Kurt Angle. On the retired side, there’s Hall of Famers Bobby “The Brain” Heenan and Chief Jay Strongbow. The set also has a signature from Chris Benoit, which commands both strong prices and some disdain.
Autographs combine to land 1:24 2006 Topps WWE Heritage Chrome packs. That translates into one per box. However, not all are available in equal quantities. Booker T, JBL and Kane are the rarest in the set.
