2005 Rittenhouse Twilight Zone Series 4: Science and Superstition marked the first time the card maker visited the classic show in more than two years. Like the previous three sets and one that would follow, the autograph checklist is the standout feature (although the product as a whole is strong as well).
The 72-card base set follows suit with earlier sets. Cards do highlight specific episodes, but it’s not in any particular sort of order. Rather, it’s a mix of seasons. A total of 12 episodes are included, each with six cards. Numbering carries on from previous releases adding continuity to the line as a whole.
2005 Rittenhouse Twilight Zone Series 4 Autographs and Inserts
Autographs are included four per box. Although maybe not as strong as the earlier sets as far as big-name stars, there’s still plenty of depth. Mickey Rooney and Star Trek‘s James Doohan are among the actors in the set. A couple of other notable names, Ron Howard and Sydney Pollack, are also included. While they were actors on the show, both would go on to be Oscar-winning directors.
Twilight Zone creator and host, Rod Serling, also has autographs in the product thanks to cut signatures. Just five of the Archives Cuts were produced, inserted in packs at a rate of 1:100,000 packs.
Twilight Zone Stars and Hall of Fame are both back with new instalments. Hall of Fame inserts are particularly tough, landing 1:100 packs. Each is also numbered to 333 copies.
New to 2005 Rittenhouse Twilight Zone Series 4: Science and Superstition are Quotable inserts. These simply highlight some of the show’s most memorable lines and bits of dialogue.
Chris Bolson created two different SketchaFEX sketch cards for the set, although neither is available in packs. One is a case topper while the other is a two-case incentive.
