When it comes to autographs, most of the Harry Potter sets Artbox released had several big names. And while the 2005 Artbox Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone Autographs include a couple of big names, overall, it’s one of their weakest.
Does that mean it’s bad? No. It just doesn’t reach the heights of some of the others.
Inserted 1:48 packs, the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone Autographs checklist consists of 14 cards from 13 different signers.
Artbox was playing catch-up with this set, having acquired the license starting with The Prisoner of Azkaban. To fill some time between that film and The Goblet of Fire, the card maker worked to close the gaps starting at the beginning.
Headlining the set is Monty Python legend, John Clesse, who played Nearly Headless Nick. He has a couple of other autographed cards with Rittenhouse’s James Bond line but not much.
Other notable names in 2005 Artbox Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone include John Hurt, Matthew Lewis and Leslie Phillips. Warwick Davis, perhaps best known for playing Wicket the Ewok in Return of the Jedi, signed two different cards. One has him as Professor Flitwick. The other is as a Goblin Bank Teller.
