The first three Shrek films each got sets of trading cards. Each was done by a different manufacturer. After an understandably simple release for the first movie in 2001 by Dart FlipCards, 2004 Comic Images Shrek 2 trading cards are predominantly classic kid-friendly fare. But there are hints of something more modern with some autographs and sketch cards, even if they’re bland.
The 72-card base set has a full-bleed design that doesn’t have a lot to it on the front beyond the image.
The only common inserts are six Foil Character cards.
2004 Comic Images Shrek 2 does have two autographs. But Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy or Cameron Diaz aren’t among the signers. Rather, it’s directors Kelly Asbury and Conrad Vernon.
The product also has Sketch Cards. But they’re just that — rough sketches. They’re all extremely generic down to the lack of artist attribution.
