The 2002 Bowman Chrome Baseball Facsimile Autograph Variations are cards that weren’t supposed to be. The intention was that the 20 players have only autographed rookie cards.
That didn’t turn out to be the case. When the set released, collectors started finding regular-looking cards without the real signature or even the autograph notation at the top. Instead, a few cards got out with the facsimile signatures found in the rest of the set.
2002 Bowman Chrome Facsimile Autograph Variations are extremely tough to find. It’s estimated that less than 50 might exist for each player.
