No matter your feelings about the live-action adaptation of the Dr. Zeuss Christmas classic, it has had a lasting impact since it hit theaters. And while the product as a whole is as mixed as the film itself, the 2000 Dynamic Forces How the Grinch Stole Christmas Costume Cards inserts offer a rare opportunity to get Jim Carrey memorabilia on a trading card.
The set has four cards. Two that are in packs. The third is a case incentive. The final costume card was supposed to be an incentive but was cancelled before showing up on the secondary market. All of the cards have swatches of a Santa Grinch outfit worn by Jim Carrey.
CC1 and CC2 are the cards available in packs. Both are land 1:350 hobby packs so they’re difficult to pull.
CC3 inserted is the case topper. CC4 was intended to be one as well but was cancelled. However, in the years since, the card has made its way onto the secondary market. Both CC3 and CC4 are over-sized cards measuring 5×7.
