1999 Comic Images Sin City puts a trading card spin on Frank Miller’s classic comic stories. While not the most complex release, particularly for its time, it does offer an alternative medium to enjoy some iconic artwork. It’s also a fairly tough set to find today, adding a layer of potential challenge to put it together today.
1999 Comic Images Sin City Checklist Overview
Consisting of 72 cards, there’s not a lot of complexity to the base set. But if you’re looking for Frank Miller’s art, there’s plenty of that. Fronts are full-bleed, showing off the noir style that was a big part of the series’ success. It keeps with the black and white motif that has followed Sin City at every turn, even its two big screen adaptations.
Backs have another small piece of art along with a short bit of text. It’s more of a highlight-driven release rather than going all in with retelling a story.
Six LustreChrome cards are the lone inserts, adding a metallic dynamic to Miller’s artwork. These land 1:18 packs or an average of two per box.
