1997 Inkworks Spawn Movie offers a trading card translation of the live-action film. By today’s standards, it’s a fairly simple and affordable release. Outside of one card, it’s not too hard to complete a master set, either.
1997 Inkworks Spawn Movie Checklist Details
One of Inkworks’ early releases, the product covers a lot of ground without a lot of cards on its checklist. This starts with the base set. Spanning 81 cards, it looks at the film, its characters and even leaves some room for a look behind the camera.
Leading the chase is an autograph by Spawn creator and comics legend Todd McFarlane. Landing 1:720 packs, there are three different variations depending on the ink used for the signature. Black come numbered to 700. Gold and Silver versions are also out there. Not only is the card hard to find, but landing one in top condition is harder. Many of the Gold and Silver ink signatures didn’t stick properly to the card making them largely disappear.
Inkworks loved to do multi-card puzzle insert sets. Usually it was nine-cards, perfect for a binder sheet. Here, Spawn Revealed has just four cards. They go together to make a portrait of the film’s hero.

Finally, there’s The Devil’s Own, a single-card chase set landing 1:108 packs. There’s also a special version exclusive to Kay-Bee packs. The card itself is the same except for the number on the back, which has a “K” at the start.
