1997 Inkworks Sliders trading cards delve into the sci-fi show’s first two seasons while also touching on the third. It just missed out on Inkworks’ shift towards premium chase elements like autographs and memorabilia cards, but there is still a handful of other inserts. Much like the show it’s based on, the set is somewhat forgotten now but it still has its fans.
1997 Inkworks Sliders Checklist Details
To kick off the 1997 Inkworks Sliders checklist, there’s a 72-card base set. Much of it is in the form of episode-by-episode recaps of seasons one and two, which aired in 1995 and 1996. Stories from the Acclaim comic books are also touched on. Towards the end of the checklist there are some season three highlights, but there’s not nearly the same amount of depth. A second set of Sliders trading cards never happened to flesh season three and beyond out.
Three additional insert sets are also part of the release.
Motionworks Lenticular cards have the longest odds at 1:35 packs. These flip between character images when tilted. Although the odds work out to about one per box, its checklist has only two cards so they’re not all that more scarce than the product’s other inserts.
Six Foilworks cards (1:17 packs) double as puzzle pieces.
Finally, there are nine Season 3 Special Embossed cards, which are 1:11 packs. All nine cards feature the same scene so while they fit together, there’s not a lot of depth to the actual content of these.
