1996 Pinnacle Christie Brinkley Collection inserts capture the 1995 World Series team in a more casual — and quirky — atmosphere. Supermodel Christie Brinkley acted as the set’s photographer, trying to capture the personalities of the Atlanta Braves and Cleveland Indians.
The cards are very goofy. But that’s part of the fun. There’s Ryan Klesko surfing with a bat (on grass, no less), Marquis Grissom doing the most posed posed run ever and Tom Glavine getting ready to chip a baseball. And how many cards show a player getting booed by kids? Dave Justice is here and loving it.
Perhaps the strangest card of them all is Albert Belle, one of the grumpiest cats to play the game. Not here. The slugger is showing a softer side, hanging out with Brinkley’s then baby son.
The set has 16 cards, eight for each team. They can be found in 1996 Pinnacle Series 2 Baseball packs, landing 1:23 hobby packs and 1:32 retail packs.
A Christie Brinkley promo card is also available, but not in packs.
