So they may not have quite the same appeal as 1978 Topps TV Westerns, but if you’re a fan of the show, 1993 Pacific Gunsmoke trading cards offer a lot more depth. But even at a little more than 100 cards, it’s tough to fully encompass two decades’ worth of television.
1993 Pacific Gunsmoke is a no-frills kind of set that came out at a time when inserts were quickly becoming popular. There aren’t any here. Rather, it’s 110 cards mixing both color and black and white photos from the show. The majority have the look of posed promotional shots as opposed to action taken directly from episodes.
The design is on the simple side with a white border, the Gunsmoke logo and a short caption done inside a small lasso. Backs have a bit of text that connects with the front but it’s more trivia than recapping.
Today, 1993 Pacific Gunsmoke trading cards are largely overlooked. A big part of that has to do with the fact that Westerns as a whole haven’t carried over to newer generations like they were with Baby Boomers. It’s not a terribly common set but it’s not rare either. That transfers over into only moderate values for boxes and sets.
