1992 Pro Set Disney Afternoon highlights some of the high points of ’90s afterschool cartoons. The promo set is not big, it’s not fancy and for the main cards in the set, you even have to add your own color.
Consisting of ten cards, each is double-sided. One is a “Color Me” image. The other says “Paint Me” and includes three basic watercolor dots at the top. Art consists of line drawings of characters (and one vehicle) from Duck Tales, Darkwing Duck, TaleSpin and Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers.
Packaged in cello packs, there’s one of the activity cards in each. They’re joined by a Darkwing Duck header card that shows what a possible base set might have looked like. However, it was never meant to be as Pro Set never did release a full Disney Afternoon set.
These cards are fairly tough to find today. Between that and the franchises they come from, they can bring some solid prices — something that’s rare for almost any cards from the era carrying the Pro Set logo.
