1989 Comic Images Arthur Adams trading cards act as a tribute and showcase to one of the most influential Marvel artists of the 1980s. Following a similar pattern to most of the card maker’s comic sets at the time, the set isn’t complex and it offers little information. What it is filled with, though, is lots of great artwork.
The base set consists of just 45 cards. White borders frame in a color piece of Adams’ artwork. At the bottom is the card number and a small caption. And that’s pretty much the extent of things. Instead of commentary or trivia, backs are puzzle pieces.
A header card featuring Longshot, a creation of Adams, is part of the product as well. There’s one of these in every pack.
A niche product, 1989 Comic Images Arthur Adams trading cards cards are fairly hard to find even though they came out at a time when the industry was growing. These are definitely not as common as what would follow shortly after once 1990 Impel Marvel Universe arrived.
