1971 Topps Brady Bunch trading cards are one of the most popular of the era. Showcasing the entire Brady clan and their antics, it’s simple of the surface. But go just below and there are some things to sort out.
The set has 88 cards. Shots from the show are framed inside of a framed border meant to mimic that of an old TV set. It’s similar in that regard to 1955 Bowman Basbeall and 1966-67 Topps Hockey but probably most appropriate here. Images are a mix of character shots and show shenanigans. Between the era’s costumes and antic the Brady kids often got in, this set offers plenty of fun visual. Whether it’s Bobby in a pie eating contest, the family dressed up as pilgrims or Alice making her trademark smiles, they’re all here.
Backs double as puzzle pieces. Some also have small write ups but most do not.
1971 Topps Brady Bunch trading cards have a 1969 copyright on the back. This remains a small source of confusion, especially since Topps did a rare test run of 55 cards in 1970. So if you come across a card with a 1969 year, it’s actually from 1971 and part of the main run. If your card’s copyright is 1970 it’s a much tougher test issue. The only other difference with the test set is that it has 55 cards instead of the expanded 88.
